The FLAURE agency, one designer and her network

Florence Merrien, garden designer and creator in the landscape and a graduate of the École nationale supérieure de paysage, runs the FLAURE agency. She designs each project and supervises its works, surrounded by a network of chosen partners.

Art inspires us and the preservation of biodiversity drives us: we are committed to offering unique places that sparkle with life.

Giving the garden a soul, season after season

SpringSummerAutumnWinter

The garden is alive. Buds open in spring, summer invites you into the shade of a beautiful tree, autumn sets the foliage ablaze, winter reveals flowers as delicate as lace.

Its personality comes first from the choice of plants: a grass swaying in the wind, foliage catching the evening light. We choose each plant for its form, its scent, its low upkeep and what it offers pollinators.

After a first career in digital project management, marketing and communication for large groups, Florence chose to pursue her passion for art, nature and biodiversity. From that career she has kept a taste for well-run projects and for listening to her clients.

I have always tried to shape gardens each as a harmony linking people to nature, house to landscape, the plant to its soil.

Russell Page, The Education of a Gardener (1962)

Fauna+ Flora= FLAURE

Two words, one conviction: a beautiful garden is a garden full of life.

The origin of our name

Where fauna and flora meet

FLAURE was born from two French words, faune and flore: fauna and flora. Our name says how we work: respecting both, and letting them live together. We design each garden as a virtuous ecosystem, where every plant has a role.

  • Nourishing, nectar-rich plants

Flowers, berries and seeds feed pollinators, birds and small mammals all year round.

  • Hedges and beds as shelters

Varied layers, informal hedges and corners left wild offer shelter and nesting places.

  • Water points

A pond, a pool or a simple saucer: water attracts dragonflies, birds and amphibians.

  • Continuous ecological corridors

Gaps in fences, links with neighbouring gardens and natural areas: wildlife moves freely, along the green and blue corridors.

A living garden is also more resilient: less watering, fewer treatments and a display that changes with every season. Our 6 commitments

What our clients say

Justine

The FLAURE agency created our garden last year. We are very pleased with the result and enjoy watching our garden grow. The agency was highly competent and always available, and met our needs and wishes while bringing fresh ideas. You can trust them! Thank you again.

Brigitte

I am very satisfied with the FLAURE agency’s work. (…) The proposal took into account the north, north-east and south-east exposures, to suggest suitable plants, as well as the constraints (co-ownership rules, a concrete slab, etc.). The idea of a journey through the garden that echoes our interior decoration is spot on. Finding landscapers and metalworkers for a flower dome let us save money by staying local, with adjusted quotes. Supervision of the works allowed the final corrections to be made and as much of the existing garden as possible to be saved. I can’t wait for spring to see it all in bloom!

Carine

I called on the FLAURE agency after buying a plot of land for our future house. We wanted to plan ahead and start creating a wooded area, with shade and fruit trees, a hedge to screen us from the street and space for a vegetable garden. The team took our needs into account and designed a project that suited us. Their drawings helped us picture the result. The works were well run and lived up to our expectations. In short, thank you FLAURE!
